SHORT BIO -
Forming in the year 2000, Northern Liberties are a three piece experimental post-punk band consisting of drums, percussion, bass, and voices. Brothers Justin and Marc Duerr, provide percussion/vocals and drums, respectively, and longtime friend Kevin provides bass, and an array of pedals. The unusual instrumentation was a result of the three deciding to work with what and whom they were most comfortable with rather than bringing in other musicians. Northern Liberties are known for an explosive high energy live show, that at times borders on performance art. With hundreds of shows, three full length CD's, two 7 inches, and one full length single-song 12" vinyl release under their belt, this is a band that comes with a history, and has a clear eye on the future, yet always exists in the present, with a sound that is hard to pigeonhole, but which is certainly a 'now' sound.
